Understanding customers' adoption of express delivery service for last-mile delivery in the UK

With the surge in online purchases, customers' requirement for last-mile delivery also increases. This study focuses on express service, primary channel delivery, to discover factors influence use. Based extended Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use Technology, a conceptual model is proposed structure hypothetical effects between constructs performance expectancy speed reliability, effort expectancy, facilitating conditions behavioural intention. A 5-year (2015–2019) longitudinal survey was conducted UK, 3964 responses were collected validate model. The results indicate that reliability has positive impact behaviour intention adopt an while speed, unexpectedly, shows insignificant impact. Moreover, found have no effect intention; however, negative influence.
